Obzor – is a sea town , which situated 65 km. south of Varna , 73 km. north of Bourgas and 530 km. east of the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia . The town is located on the territory of the bay beneath the Eastern Strandza mountain and the Black Sea . The sea shore lone is the longest in Bulgarian Black Sea . The town Obzor has an ancient history . First , the Greeks named it Navlohos , and later they renamed it into Heliopolis – “ The Town of the Sun “ . The Romans settled this locality too and named it Templum Iovis ( The Temple of Jupiter ) . In our days on the territory of small town park you may see the remains of the Greek and Roman columns . In the Medieval times there was a Bulgarian fortress Koziak , that later the Ottoman invaders destroyed completely . Today’s name Obzor the town carries from 1935 . The town is located on the Stara Planina mountain ranges , which descent to the sea along the Dvoinitsa river . .jpg)
The location of the town is favorable exceptionally . 10 km. long and more than 60 meters wide it’s the longest beach in the place between Golden Sands and Sunny Beach resorts . The sand is fine and golden . The South beach and Irakli beach are beautiful especially .
